Sometimes I really struggle with getting started on a task.
Recently, while working on a leatherworking project - a hat that took me 10 days to make… over the course of 4 years - I realized something about how I handle that inertia.
When I feel stuck, instead of staying frustrated, I’ve started pausing and asking myself: What’s really keeping me from starting? Is it anxiety? Feeling overwhelmed? Maybe I’m tired or hungry. Once I figure out the sticking point, I can start brainstorming solutions.
In the video, I share a simple way I’ve been breaking through that stuck feeling, step by step—even when it feels like progress is impossible. It’s something I’m still working on, but it’s already helping me approach things differently.
What do you do to move past the inertia? Let me know—I’m always looking for ideas.
