You’ve played tons of games with the usual set of status effects. Things like Sleep, Charm, or Poison. But is that all a status effect could be? Of course not! A game is a created reality, and there are no limits as to what you could do with a custom status. Lots of games design their own weird status effects. They can be weird just for fun, or they can do a surprising amount of structural work to help make a game a more complete package. Let’s talk about what a weird status effect can do for a game!
