What happens when you reduce a massive Florida coral boulder to see what’s hidden inside?

In this video, I break down one of the largest pieces of agatized Florida coral I’ve worked, removing the outer cortex to reveal the beautiful knappable material underneath. My goal was simple: salvage the best stone possible and turn it into large bifaces suitable for future blades.

The results surprised even me.

If you enjoy flintknapping, primitive technology, geology, archaeology, stone tools, or simply watching raw materials transformed into something incredible, you’re in the right place.
