This video is a partial response to a viewer question about producing cross sections through models. The deformed layer pack can be buried with 1-2 cm of "post-deformation" sand, soaked with strong gelatin solution, and sliced into sections which can be removed and dried. Preparing these sections is a good way to see how well the structural style you see through the sidewall matches the rest of the model. Here I mostly discuss the slicing phase of the process; I hope to have a video showing the gelatin saturation phase next week. My office is very narrow and doesn't have room for a tripod in the right location, so please excuse the shelf position of the iPhone camera!
