Exploring the inside of a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) and explaining how does it work. This one is Back-UPS CS 350 from APC, probably 350VA and peak 500VA. It's a simple type with an iron transformer and a modified sine wave output. It converts 12V from a sealed lead acid battery to mains voltage during power outages to back up the load, usually a computer.
