How did people keep food cold before electricity and refrigeration? An Ice House! Every winter at Memory Lane Heritage Village, volunteers join together and cut ice from the Dufferin Pond to store in the Ice House for the summer ahead.

Memory Lane Heritage Village is an award winning living history museum depicting coastal rural life in Nova Scotia during the 1940s. With live animals that roam the grounds and artifacts you can touch and explore, the Memory Lane experience is truly unforgettable.
