Hi there everybody, thanks for joining me today. I think that there’s a lot of people out there who are watching this right now who would fall into a category of really not liking their boss. And dealing with a boss that you don’t like isn’t easy, but I’m here to tell you right at the outset that you need to get past it. You are not going to like every single boss that you have in your career. You might not even like half the bosses that you have in your career, but you do have to deal with them. And what the first mistake everybody makes is when they don’t like somebody, they don’t associate with somebody. And what hat does is that kills your career and your relationship with your boss. It lets it atrophy. So when you don’t like someone it’s almost more important that you focus on communicating with them more. Give them updates and give them feedback on what it is that you’re doing, and why it is that you’re doing it. Give them information from the customer, from the suppliers, from other departments. Find reasons to communicate with them more. A) it helps build a mutual understanding. B) It helps ensure that the relationship doesn’t atrophy. C) And it’s also good business. We don’t have to like everybody that we work with. That goes for your boss, it goes for your coworker, it goes for your employees. You don’t have to like them, but you do have a responsibility to the organization to get productive work done. So even if you don’t like your boss, make sure that you don’t stop communicating with them. Communicate with them more, and focus on just getting the work done. That’s the best way to get through that tough situation that all of us will most likely come to at some point in our career. Good luck everybody and have a good one.
