So you made a video, and it didn’t seem to “work” for your Catholic group’s mission. Here’s how to dig out of that hole and find success.
When you say “didn’t work,” you likely mean that the video views were dismally low. So you need to ask, 1. Did you find your audience? and, 2. Did you present it well?
Who was the video intended for? If you said “everyone,” there’s your problem. You have to have a clear picture of the person who should watch this video so you can show the video to them. Who specifically does your mission need right now? What are their media consumption habits?
Then, you need to take your video to them. Find the social media channel they are most likely to use. Then boost it and use targeting to get your video in front of the right people.
But, there’s a second piece to this. You need to present the video well. Make sure there’s an engaging title that your audience will relate to. Write a description that outlines why they should bother to watch the video. And create a thumbnail image that will spark interest.
Then go one step further. Include a call-to-action that gives them the next step to take. Because you don’t just want video views, you want your viewer to take action.
Find your audience, present the video well and include a call-to-action – then your video will not only “work,” but it will take your mission to the next level.
