The Yuma Territorial Prison, also known as the Hell Hole, is a time capsule that shows what incarceration was like in the late 1800's.
Conditions at the prison were known to be harsh. The Arizona desert is brutally hot, and men were forced to labor outside during the day, and were often crammed 6 to a cell, encased in iron and stone, with little hope of escape.
This video shows what life was like, and explores the darker side of prison life in the 1800's.
