After leaving Sedona via Schnebly Hill Road, we head north to Sycamore Falls near Williams, Arizona before checking into the historic Red Garter Inn — a former saloon and brothel along Route 66. Forest roads, waterfalls, history, and small-town Arizona adventure.

After finishing the rugged drive along Schnebly Hill Road near Sedona, Glenn heads north into the pine forests outside Williams, Arizona to visit Sycamore Falls — one of northern Arizona’s most popular seasonal waterfall destinations. Depending on recent rainfall and snowmelt, the falls can range from a trickle to a dramatic cascade flowing through the Kaibab National Forest.
From there, the journey continues along scenic forest roads before arriving in historic downtown Williams, Arizona. Known as the “Gateway to the Grand Canyon,” Williams is packed with Route 66 history, vintage storefronts, railroad heritage, and a surprising number of stories from the town’s wild early days.
To wrap up the trip, Glenn checks into the historic Red Garter Inn — a restored 1897 saloon and former brothel located right in the heart of downtown Williams. The inn’s colorful history, preserved architecture, and unique rooms make it one of the most memorable places to stay along Route 66 in northern Arizona.
