The time was 1983. I received a grant from United Technologies Corporation to make this film and I got permission from the Air Force to make it without restriction. No one watched us or told us what to do. All they knew was that we were going to take a positive attitude toward the base and the people who worked on it and explore the reasons that they were so committed to working hard.
