Post-industrial recycling is recycling waste generated from production processes in factories. Compared to Post-consumer waste, this waste is cleaner, which makes it easier to recycle.
Plastic producers usually throw away their waste. By recycling post-industrial waste, producers can cut the costs of raw materials and become more sustainable. Producers can either outsource their waste to outside recyclers or they can get their own plastic recycling equipment to process the waste in their own factory, which is known as in-house post-industrial recycling.
Recycling your post-industrial waste in-house can help you gain a competitive advantage in the industry. If you are interested in learning more about which machines you can use to recycle your own factory waste in-house, contact POLYSTAR, our team can help you choose the right machine for your recycling needs.

What is the ABA Blown Film Machine? What are the advantages of using ABA Blown Film Machine over single layer blown film machines and how economic it is compared to blown film machines? We share a quick insight into these common questions.
👉 You can also find the long version of the ABA Blown Film Machine video at https://youtu.be/jnSFq6IlDkw
ABA Co-extrusion blown film machine has its advantages over one layer blown film machines for certain applications like garbage bags, shopping bags, and T-Bags that are higher in thickness or require more film strength. In markets such as Australia and the UK, producing larger-sized garbage bags with ABA co-extrusion lines has become the industrial standard.
👉 [BENEFITS OF ABA CO-EXTRUSION BLOWN FILM MACHINES]
📍 COST SAVING:
Virgin material is applied mainly on the outer (thin) layers which is relatively a small percentage of the film composition. These thin layers can cover the middle layer which is composed mainly of recycled materials and/or CaCO3. That provides a shiny film surface and good sealing while saving material cost by using recycled materials.
📍 STRONGER:
Higher resistance compared to single-layer films of the same thickness.
📍 BETTER MATERIAL MIXING:
Produce better quality film, especially when using recycled pellets. The same result as ABC.
The 3-layer films produced by the ABA machine is 30% stronger than films produced by a mono-layer extruder. The ABA machine is also much more economical compared to an ABC three-layer machine as it has one extruder less.
👉 The A-B-A blown film machine consists of two extruders, normally of two different sizes. The most common ones today are the combination of a 45mm screw diameter together with a 55mm for T-shirt bag production. For garbage bags, normally a 55mm screw diameter with a bigger 65mm is used. In the A-A outer layer, normally 20% of CaCO3 is used, with some additional color masterbatch, LLDPE, and a larger percentage of HDPE. The B layer can be used with a larger percentage of CaCO3 with HDPE raw material. In-house recycled pellets can also be used in the mixture.
