At the heart of Europe, it's sandwiched between Switzerland and Austria. It's one of the tiniest countries on earth. The only countries smaller than it are, in descending order, Monaco (24 square miles), Tuvalu (10 square miles), Nauru (8 square miles), San Marino (2 square miles), and the Vatican City (.19 square miles!).
A few things immediately stand out about Liechtenstein, it's stunningly beautiful, the landscape is vibrantly green, the food is great, and the trails are well worth the trip.
I meet up with six-time Olympican Marco Buechel to hike the ridgeline trail from Malbun to Naafkopf, which follows the border with Austria. 10/10 would hike again.

Then I hike the most talked about trail in the country, the Fürstensteig trail, which is absolutely epic.
