As winter crept over the Dolomites, I set out for one last adventure — a three-day backpacking trip through the Sella range, where the trails were empty, the huts were closing, and the snow was already claiming the peaks.
This is what the Dolomites look and feel like in their final days before the mountains shut down — when every ridge echoes with silence, every step feels like trespassing on winter’s doorstep, and every sunrise could be the last before the storm.
