For the better part of a decade Sega hasn’t re-released Sonic the Hedgehog 3. This has led many to wonder whether or not this could have something to do with the late Michael Jackson and the special role he played in creating some of the game’s music? Could the estate of Michael Jackson, or someone tied to his music production team, be holding SEGA back from giving the fans yet another release of Sonic 3?
We don’t think so. After consulting the FACTS and discussing the matter with people closest to the controversy, even from beyond the grave, we have come to conclusion that the real enemy at the root of this problem is none other than SEGA themselves.....as usual.
For those who don’t know much about the fantastically bizarre story of how Michael Jackson came to secretly make some of the music for Sonic 3, and subsequently how this secret was ultimately uncovered by the Sonic fan community, here are some links to great articles and videos:
