My Hypercam recently decided to develop an issue and is unusable. So instead I modified a Canon 600D I had in order to try and make use of a clear night.

Needless to say, it didn't go my way. Not hardware issues this time (in the way I usually have at least), but just this didn't work. Originally I hadn't levelled the sensor correctly in the camera, so it wasn't flat and focused across the field, but it seems the 600D sensor is just very noisy!

Maybe I'll go back to a 450D to compliment my main imaging telescope.

What a night...

$Lets Photograph The Elephants Trunk Nebula The Elephants Trunk Nebula (IC1396), located in Cepheus. This is a large emission nebula that has a very distinctive shape to it. It can be a bit tricky to see the Elephants Trunk when looking at the image, but if you turn your head to the right, you can see the trunk Whilst the Moon is up, the Hydrogen-Alpha filter comes in play! I had issues trying to calibrate the data though. There was some starbursting on the right hand side of the image that I struggled with (you may remember me mentioning this). Ive had some suggestions on fixing it. Once Ive got conclusive results, Ill let you know what was done! Im focussing more on the film making aspects of my videos now and enjoying it greatly!
