Let's Photo The Tulip Nebula With AstroAddict. Oh yes, Tim the AstroAddict. He approached me and asked if I was interested in a collaboration – an astrophotography imaging competition. A friendly contest of skills imaging the Tulip Nebula, an emission nebula within Cygnus.

The rules were simple, using comparable equipment we were to capture 3 hours of narrowband data and then process them accordingly, before allowing you – the viewers – to vote on your favourite. We show the photos in the same order as to not show any bias that might reveal which is which.

I used an Altair Hypercam 183c Tec Cooled Camera, with my Skywatcher Evostar 80ED and as the filter I used the new Altair Triband Filter. This narrowband imaging filter allows through Hydrogen Alpha, Oxygen-III and Sulfur-II. I had a lot of fun with this challenge and would love to do more collabs going forward.
