The idea of preserving the past in working order and running a railway by volunteers simply for the joy of it all started here, 75 years ago, and the Talyllyn Railway threw one big party to celebrate.
Overnight steam, stars from fiction, and trains from every decade in the line's heritage history were only the start of this milestone occasion.
Tim Dunn, Matt Parmenter and myself were on board to livestream the entire event for the railway's YouTube channel, but here is a broader look at the narrow gauge, from Titfield to Tidmouth to Tywyn.
