WGXA spoke to head coach Joel Taylor today as Mercer Football officially launched the countdown to the 2026 season.

The Bears are headlining the FCS Kickoff on August 29 against East Texas A&M. University leaders also unveiled the Mercer Football Ford Concert Series, a free pre-game concert and festival experience for the community all season long. Coach Taylor says his team is ready to embrace the challenge on the national stage.
