The final verdict: Read this book!
Millennial should read this book, as it has a lot of recent history about recent people powered movements.
Boomers should read We've Got People because of its traditional writing style, and its different perspective.
Apolitical people should read this book because of where Ryan Grim puts his focus. Many apolitical people I talk to hate the business as usual political system we have today. While Grim talks about that system a lot, he is both critical of the system when needed, and provides reporting on candidates that push to make the system better with a people powered movement.
We've Got People, by Ryan Grim, is one of the best political books I've read. There are so many reasons for this. One is Ryan Grim's fundamental understanding of power, who has it, what do people with power do with their power, how do they keep their power, how do people get more power, ect. One of the more ignored types of power is people power, hence the title, "We've Got people"
