Just some not-so-well known mechanics about how wetness works in the game.
Much thanks to Cossonwool for explaining to me the temperature aspect to wetness. Check him out here: twitch.tv/cossonwool
Only players and Dragonfly have the moisture component in their lua files, which is why Water Balloons actually make them wet. (Other mobs, to simply state it, just replicate wetness via being assigned the Wetness prefix).
This is good for two reasons. One: Electrical weapons will do full damage against every other mob if they have the wetness prefix to them, not this scaled damage that I showed in the video. If they did scaled damage, Dark Swords would always be better (I did the math, more on that later).
Second: No FPS issues. How do I know this? Because I made a mod sometime back that gave mobs the moisture component, in hopes of using Water Balloons alongside electrical weapons. Massive FPS issues ensued, as per other users. That lead to my current understanding of how wetness mechanics work in the game.
This is the mod in question. Do keep in mind that you shouldn't really use this mod, cause it's real laggy, and I won't ever update it. I kept it up there though for demonstration purposes, and I'll alter the description one day: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1454416072
