On December 5th, WestJet made possibly one of the biggest route announcements in their history - flights from Calgary to Tokyo-Narita!
This is WestJet’s first ever flight to Asia, something that had been hotly anticipated ever since they ordered the 787s. Let's see what else they announced today!

Newcastle International Airport (NCL/EGNT) serves the city of Newcastle upon Tyne in the United Kingdom, and is the busiest airport in North East England.
I was there briefly back in June on a particularly windy day and managed to capture some of their regulars, including their largest visitor, the Emirates 777 from Dubai.

On Sunday, August 28th, FedEx sent one of their McDonnell Douglas MD-10 freighters to Calgary on the usual flight from Memphis.
This marks the first time a DC-10 of any sort has been to Calgary in over 7 years, since Kelowna Flightcraft stopped flying theirs here in 2015.
Personally, these are some of my all time favourite airplanes, and what makes this even more exciting is that these and the larger MD-11s will apparently become a regular sight here over the next couple months.
So, my sincere thank you to whoever at FedEx made that decision, and enjoy the video.
