Welcome to the 20th short from Flip Clock Fans - our ongoing effort to catalog all the flip clocks in the Flip Clock Fans Collection. In this episode we're looking at a very rare Westclox Digilume Dialite model 22102.
Welcome Flip Clock Fans
You're looking at one of the few flip clocks from Westclox.
They called this the Westclox Digilume Dialite model 22102.
It showed up in Westclox catalogs in 1976 and was seen in newspaper advertisements up until 1977.
The clock came in white, black and brown (what they called "woodtone"). Really its just brown, but you know, the 70s were all about wood grain in the United States for some reason.
It seems to have come and gone pretty quickly.
Perhaps no one appreciated these fancy ornamental styling.
The clock can't seem to make up its mind if it's from the 60s or 70s.
The mechanism in this clock turns out to be a type of flipper very commonly used in wind up flip clocks.
The orange neon glow bulb was dim, so I replaced it with a vintage green one, just in time for Halloween.
The Westclox Digilume Dialite model 22102
One of the quirky little flip clocks in the Flip Clock Fans collection.
Thanks for taking the time.
