Welcome to the 21st short from Flip Clock Fans - our ongoing effort to catalog all the flip clocks in the Flip Clock Fans Collection. You're looking at the Sears Tradition Model 7020 "Pedestal" Flip Clock.

Welcome Flip Clock Fans
This is the Sears model 7020 Pedestal Clock.
It is essentially identical to a clock sold in Europe under the brand name Safari, (the model number 314) except this model has the awesome orange flip digits.
The clock was first displayed in the 1975 Sears Catalog.
It's unclear why the makers chose to hide the orange digits behind the smokey plastic front, but there it is.
Perhaps they were trying to somehow mimic the look of an LED digital.
These clocks, including the European Safaris, are known in clock restoration circles for having the whirligig separate from the motor.
It can be fixed, but requires the gear box to be opened up.
Except for the motor issue, these clocks seem to be very well built.

Part of the Flip Clock Fans collection.
Thanks for taking the time.
