Barcelona president Joan Laporta has publicly confirmed the club's desire to sign Julian Alvarez, stating they are "very interested in the player" and hopeful their official offer will be accepted by Atletico Madrid before the summer transfer window closes on 1st September.
Laporta made it clear that if Atletico are "open to selling during this summer transfer window," Barcelona are fully prepared to complete the deal "in accordance with the offer" already submitted.
