Wolsingham School in County Durham had planned to turn off its heating as part of a "Blue Nose Day" event to raise awareness about climate change and promote sustainability.
The school informed parents earlier in the week, advising students to wear extra layers on the day to stay warm.
However, after concerns from staff and parents, the school decided to cancel the event. In a letter, the school said that "after careful consideration," the event, set for Friday, October 18, would no longer take place, and the heating would remain on.
