The first class to graduate from No 1 Recruit Training Unit (1RTU) in 2026 received their rank slides on 27 February. 🎓🎊

Frocking is a naval tradition dating back hundreds of years. Newly appointed sailors and officers would receive the frock, or coat, of their position before their official promotion.

In the week before marching out of training, recruits are given their rank on the day they travel to the Australian War Memorial to participate in a Last Post Ceremony.
