"The truth is WE are made up of weeds and wheat. Just as both are present in the field in Matthew 13, so too are both present in the fields of our lives and in the world.
Yet the Good Farmer who planted me, and believes in me and anticipates a harvest out of me yet, is in the process of transforming my weeds into wheat.
And just as surely as the one who you and I may think is all weeds, well, they may have some wheat too. Every sinner has a future and every saint has a past.
And for the presence of weeds – of violence and turbulence, the disappointment and heartbreak, the trouble in the world – the Lord is remaking, and redeeming that too, involving us in the renewal and restoration of all things. Those weeds won’t last forever. And the Lord can bring renewal out of the ashes of what’s left behind."
