As promised, here are lots of lovely new Accurascale Deltics, 6 of them actually and each with different details, weathering and identities.
Each one is featured chronologically, and the beauty of first generation diesels is that they started their careers when steam was still king on British Railways.
A custom weathered K1 and V2 are in action to provide that fascinating contrast that co-existed for several years between the steam age and the modern era.
By the end of the 1960's all steam had disappeared on British Railways, and the Deltics were gradually evolving with minor modifications and livery variations. But the Deltics, now classified as 55's, continued to work the services they were designed for - crack expresses on the East Coast Mainline right up until their withdrawal in the early 1980's.
