Al Boraq is Morocco’s state-of-the-art high-speed rail service and the first high-speed railway in Africa, running sleek double-decker trains at speeds of up to 320 km/h (200 mph). Operated by the ONCF, it connects the northern port of Tangier to the economic capital of Casablanca, dramatically slashing travel times from nearly five hours to just 2 hours and 10 minutes. Named after a swift, winged creature of Islamic tradition, Al Boraq offers a highly modern, quiet, and air-conditioned travel experience, with major track expansion plans underway to link more cities like Marrakech ahead of the 2030 World Cup.
