Today is our first time exploring the capital city and getting our first impressions. As its peak summer here in Kuwait, tourism is currently low which means the streets seem quieter than usual. We will be visiting the famous Kuwait Towers and eating at the Cheesecake Factory as well as general exploring around the countries largest city.
Kuwait City, the bustling capital of Kuwait located on the southern shore of Kuwait Bay along the Arabian Gulf, is a dynamic modern metropolis where futuristic architectural landmarks meet deep-rooted regional history. Home to over 70% of the nation's population, it originally grew from an 18th-century fishing and pearl-diving village into a major maritime trading hub, later transforming into a high-tech urban centre powered by the world’s sixth-largest oil reserves.Modern highlights include the iconic needle-like Kuwait Towers and the world-class Avenues Mall, while historic spots like Souk Al-Mubarakiya offer a glimpse into traditional Gulf culture and spice trading. Backed by the world’s highest-valued currency—the Kuwaiti Dinar—the city features a diverse multicultural community where international expatriates make up a significant majority of the workforce.
