HIV is fully preventable, there are therapies available for people who are HIV positive to prevent them from spreading the disease and therapies to prevent exposure to the disease (PrEP). Canice Christian is trying to bridge the gap between these facts and how there continues to be 1.5 million new HIV cases each year.
Christian was a UCSF Grad Slam 2023 presenter, a competition that challenges PhD students to present a compelling talk on their research in three minutes or less using compelling language that non-specialists can understand.
