We Did The Pirate Quest At The St. Louis Aquarium & Searched For Sunken Treasure!
The St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station was having a special event called the Pirate Quest, and we decided to go check it out! It started with our grandson getting to meet Sharkey (their mascot?) outside the Aquarium, and giving him a "high fin". Then we went on inside, had our season passes scanned, picked up a Pirate tattoo for our grandson, and started looking for treasure. The Aquarium was decorated in a definite pirate-style, with old lanterns, wooden barrels, torn sails, ship's masts, candles, heavy curtains, maps, and manuscripts. As we walked through the building, we read each of the large manuscript-like posters that we came across. They all contained a fun fact about a fish or animal that was nearby. They also contained journal entries from the ficticious Captain Gideon Gar and his crew, and at least one joke or pun, usually both. They were fun to read, and eventually led us to the treasure room! It was a fun experience, and we also got to see all the usual amazing fish and animals on display there...we love the St. Louis Aquarium!
