Footage of the Warrior character from Wayward Soul's PC version, in the Catacombs area. This was the first run of the day and I made it to the boss!
SPOILERS: The last minute of this video is boss and story footage.
Notes for Warrior:
The charge physics change makes warrior that much stronger. Instead of bouncing off enemies, you tend to drag them along with you, so you can hit a big group. We may adjust this for really big enemies, there's part of the video where the Warrior pushes a big demon back to avoid an attack.
Spider enemies and rooms are now in the Catacombs area of the game. Not shown in this footage: this enemy group also has a teleporting thief-style enemy like you see in the Castle section of the game. This new monster faction kind of feels like a cross between the Boar and Castle groups.
The slow webbing fields that the big spiders do almost lead to me taking a lot of damage, I ended up evading this thanks to the shield.
Paladin's mode is really difficult, so I did well in this earlier character story mode. Near the end I kept taking a lot of accidental attacks, though. By the time I was on the last floor, I was near death. Then I took more accidental hits, so I had about 2 hits left when facing the boss.
I used the only Hourglass item I found really early on, for a pretty easy fight. I wasn't thinking long-term at the start of the run. I really, really could have used that later on, for the boss. It was the only Hourglass to drop that run, and it really messes up the boss of this area (to the point where you can cheese the boss if you get a lot of them).
