A look back at the history of BBC Radio 4 from Droitwich transmitter that was switched off at 01:00 on Saturday 27th June 2026 marking the end of 92 years of long wave from Droitwich and 48 years of Radio 4 on long wave from Droitwich.

Droitwich is interesting in that it is rumoured to provide a dead hand signal to the UK's nuclear submarines in the event of an attack.
