Gun control legislation is not about safety, it is a rare instance of truth in advertising by our governments - it's about control!!!
Incrementalism is always on the agenda with gun control, and the reasoning will be because the gun control laws aren't working, so they have a built-in justifier for more laws, as more laws will never keep criminals from breaking them.
Next will come registration,which is inevitably followed by confiscation, as this is truly the only purpose that registration serves. A firearm's registration will not prevent it from being used in a violent crime, anymore than taking inventory will stop shoplifting, let's use our heads, here, people!!!
