Born on Abrion Major, Shold Keerath grew up among farmland, orchards, and quiet provincial towns that became front-line supply chains during the Clone Wars. A soft-voiced quadjitarist with a disarming, everyman presence, he wrote love songs to pass the time in the fields and taverns of his homeworld. But his gentle ballad “Wait For Me” became something else entirely when it was embraced by Separatist propagandists.
Framed as a soldier’s letter home, the song promised that the war was nearly won, that tyranny would soon crumble, and that families would be reunited. For listeners across the Confederacy, it struck a chord far deeper than speeches or slogans: it was the sound of longing, sacrifice, and hope that the war would mean something.
Though Shold himself never served, his voice was carried by every Separatist broadcast across a thousand systems. To this day, in the old Separatist strongholds of the Outer Rim, “Wait For Me” still plays in backwater cantinas and over static-filled radios—an outlawed anthem of love and rebellion under the Empire.
