V-Ray 5.0 First Look: New Features Overview
This video goes is an introduction to some of the new features in V-Ray 5, or Vray 5, whichever, for 3ds Max 2021 (also available for other versions of Max). I just barely got an invite to join the Beta this morning, so I was excited to test it out. It does not disappoint. Not only was it not buggy for me, but it also has some features that I already HAVE to have. I absolutely love the new compositor inside of the new and improved V-Ray Frame buffer, but mostly I love the light compositor. With this new tool, it is possible to FULLY adjust your lighting, and get perfect balance, in post, without ever rendering again. I'll demonstrate in the video. It is awesome! Needless to say, I am excited for this release.
In addition to the things I mentioned, there is also a vast new library of very professionally made V-Ray materials which come with V-Ray 5. Very useful! I also love the new material presets, which make it possible to create default materials like frosted glass, for example, and a bunch of others. Huge time savers. You will see that there are some improvements to the standard Vray materials as well.
