NeonVisual | Voyager 4k intro - Half built first segment @NeonVisual | Uploaded February 2017 | Updated October 2024, 18 hours ago.
No cam motion or particle effects for solar prominence added just yet, I just wanted to get a 4K render off to see if the star was in the right ballpark and the ship's motion path in the right places as per the original broadcast version.
No post yet, will likely be some flares, lens dirt, chromatic aberrations, the usual shit. I'd have preferred to give Voyager some more banking angle as it flies off around the sun, to prevent it looking too much like a sprite, but I'm doing my best to keep it as close to the original as possible, with added detail, rather than barrel rolls. Right now I'm focusing on the next segment in the nebula, as it's the most complicated to deal with, I'll come back to this once it's done.
There are more test shots of this, and other sections on facebook.com/neonvisual if you're interested in seeing previs of 55 million particles in an 850GB sim for the nebula section...
