Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon is offering "a path forward" when it comes to term limits for his office and the office of county comptroller.

On Tuesday, Executive McMahon proposed presenting voters with two options on the ballot when it comes to term limits. The first option is a yes or no to a three-term limit. The second is a yes or no to a four-term limit. Voters will also have the option to reject both proposals, resulting in no term limits.

McMahon said that under his proposal, if one option receives a majority of the support, it goes into effect. If both receive a majority of support, the proposal with the most yes votes goes into effect.

The proposal would appear on the ballot in 2027.
