In the Volkswagen e-Golf, you can manually deactivate the front passenger’s airbag in order to install the rear-facing child seat. Placing the child seat here without deactivating this airbag is forbidden and may lead to serious injuries during accidents due to the airbag deploying and pushing the child seat out of its place.

In this video, I will show you how you can deactivate this airbag and also control its functions when you need this. Fortunately, in this vehicle, you have a manual switch for that.
