...I'll admit, this totally blindsided me. For those out of the loop, an official remake of Touhou Koumakyou ~ Embodiment of Scarlet Devil just got announced this week, AND it's coming out in most languages on Steam and most consoles! I got caught off guard because, while I did have a Touhou remix ready for today, it's completely unrelated to EoSD. As such, I decided to postpone posting that other Touhou remix for now and instead arrange a song from EoSD itself to celebrate!

Ive wanted to arrange this song for some time now, since I felt it would work really well in the N163 sound chip. This song debuted in SMT1, but it got an extended version starting in Shin Megami Tensei if, so thats what this version is based off of. Hope you enjoy!

I was talking with someone last year about some games with bad soundtracks, and somewhere along the line the conversation went to the Ys series and what systems Ys came to. To my surprise, I found out none of the games, not even the early ones, got a Wonderswan port. I decided to port at least one song to the Wonderswan since I havent done a Wonderswan remix in a while anyway.

Havent had a chance to play Chapters 3 or 4 of Deltarune yet, but I wanted to do at least one remix from this game. I think I heard Black Knife and knew I wanted to make a SNES Shin Megami Tensei-styled remix of it. I think it turned out well, but let me know what you think!

...So this is awkward. The initial plan was for this to both be the last Halloween-related remix this month *and* coincide with the release of Mina the Hollower the same day! Problem is, Yacht Club Games delayed it for polishing, so now this very specific plan I had got shot in the foot... I ultimately opted to have it as the final Halloween remix, because at the time Im uploading this theres no indication as to when Mina will release other than soon™.
I went with the Game Boy sound chip for this remix for a very specific reason - while the game definitely looks like something youd see on the Game Boy Color, the actual music was made for the MSX+SCC sound chip instead. This isnt to downplay the music talent of Jake Kaufman, as I love everything Ive heard of this soundtrack, but considering Virt has worked on actual Game Boy games before it really made me wonder what this games music would have sounded like on an actual Game Boy. As such, I decided to work on the Blighted Docks* theme. Naturally, this was tricky to do given that, as Ive said in the past, Virt is a *beast*. However, I think I pulled it off pretty well, so I may do more of these in the future. I really hope you enjoyed this one!
