I was talking with someone last year about some games with bad soundtracks, and somewhere along the line the conversation went to the Ys series and what systems Ys came to. To my surprise, I found out none of the games, not even the early ones, got a Wonderswan port. I decided to port at least one song to the Wonderswan since I haven't done a Wonderswan remix in a while anyway.

Havent had a chance to play Chapters 3 or 4 of Deltarune yet, but I wanted to do at least one remix from this game. I think I heard Black Knife and knew I wanted to make a SNES Shin Megami Tensei-styled remix of it. I think it turned out well, but let me know what you think!

...So this is awkward. The initial plan was for this to both be the last Halloween-related remix this month *and* coincide with the release of Mina the Hollower the same day! Problem is, Yacht Club Games delayed it for polishing, so now this very specific plan I had got shot in the foot... I ultimately opted to have it as the final Halloween remix, because at the time Im uploading this theres no indication as to when Mina will release other than soon™.
I went with the Game Boy sound chip for this remix for a very specific reason - while the game definitely looks like something youd see on the Game Boy Color, the actual music was made for the MSX+SCC sound chip instead. This isnt to downplay the music talent of Jake Kaufman, as I love everything Ive heard of this soundtrack, but considering Virt has worked on actual Game Boy games before it really made me wonder what this games music would have sounded like on an actual Game Boy. As such, I decided to work on the Blighted Docks* theme. Naturally, this was tricky to do given that, as Ive said in the past, Virt is a *beast*. However, I think I pulled it off pretty well, so I may do more of these in the future. I really hope you enjoyed this one!

When I was working on the Shin Megami Tensei-style arrange of Say My Name earlier, I ended up listening to NeonCryptids remix of Calliope Moris RED that he made for FLARE NUINUI QUEST. I know it wasnt intentional, but it sounded so much like a SMT battle theme. As such I ended up doing SMT-style arrange of this song too because it was going to bother me otherwise. ...I swear Im not trying to make a habit of this! ^-^;

Its the 25th anniversary of Paper Mario, and seeing as thats my favorite game of all time I wanted to do a nice remix for the occasion! I settled on the final boss theme because I wanted to see if I could make it work on the SNES. It worked really well with the Super Mario RPG instruments, though I did have to borrow the lead guitar from Chrono Trigger for the solo. Hope it turned out alright!
