I had a chance to spend the day filming on a GoPro Hero 3+ in order to help my dad learn how to use it. So I decided to try something new and film a vlog. See thepodcastersstudio.com/gear to view a list of all my gear.
GoPros are nothing new and I've certainly seen plenty of the great videos shot with them but they're new to me. I've never shot on one before. And I have to say this little camera impressed me and it was a lot of fun to use.
1:33 applied the GoPro preset in Premiere Pro to remove the wide angle distortion. Horizon is now level and image still looks good.
2:11 converted the 60p video into 24 frames for more slow motion.
4:05 applied warp stabilizer in After Effects. Worked well on the main shot but cause some weirdness in the corners where the image is distorted.
The auto functions of this cam (auto is your only option) work great and I was pleasantly surprised by the audio. Not amazing but useable.
