Visionect Joan demonstrated its latest full-color ePaper badge technology, the Joan ePaperBadge, at InfoComm 2026. The wireless badge features NFC capabilities, a physical button, a security control chip for access control, and low-power Bluetooth for mobile app integration.

Designed primarily for visitor and employee badges, the device supports custom content and automated visitor software integration. Each badge is rechargeable via any standard NFC charger or USB-C, delivering a battery life of 3 to 6 months. The hardware is rated as waterproof for durability against spills, and a single badge can be reused approximately 700 times before requiring a charge.
The company also showcased its broader Joan platform, a content management system (CMS) for digital signage that runs on both ePaper and LCD displays. The CMS features a drag-and-drop calendar interface for scheduling content, supports custom user roles and permissions, and can override scheduled content for emergency messages or company events.
The signage platform integrates seamlessly with the Joan meeting room and desk booking ecosystem, supporting wayfinding maps for employees and visitors. Hardware options include fully wireless battery operation, magnetic wiring, and Power over Ethernet (PoE) connectivity. According to the company, ePaper displays consume 99% less energy than traditional LCDs.
Visionect Joan maintains compatibility with third-party devices such as Apple products to provide a unified user interface across mixed technology environments. In the United States, all channel partners distribute products and services through Almo, the company's official US distributor.
