We tagged along on an outdoor photo shoot by photographer Charles Chessler, who was teaching three Opening Act students the art and science of photography. Two teaching artists were the subjects, and this is some of the inspiring insight we gained on how the covid pandemic has changed the methods, but not the spirit of what they all do.
Opening Act is a theater program that provides students attending New York City’s most under-served public schools the opportunity to gain confidence, pride, and the knowledge that they can succeed at anything in life.
About Viral Life: Artists have been particularly hard hit by covid-19, many losing both their income and resources overnight. Some have used this time of sequestering to reinvent and create. We are speaking with them about their new endeavors and how they've had to pivot in this brave new world of life, death and art.
