We had the privilege of meeting author, horseman, farmer and teacher, Ingimar Sveinsson, back in 2018 while filming Tails of Iceland. He was 90 years young at the time, radiating a lifetime of rich experiences—including writing his award-winning book, Hrossafræði Ingimars.
Ingimar was the consummate horseman. He was widely recognized for his innovative approach to horsemanship and his research into international training methods, some of which he adapted to the Icelandic horse.
In the brief time we shared with him, he captivated us with fascinating stories, painting vivid pictures of early life in Iceland.
We were deeply saddened to hear of his recent passing at the age of 98, and we wanted to share some of his stories in a tribute to a life well lived.
