A good smelter is a blessing even early game. Some would say a must. This very simple super smelter you can build without even having been to the Nether to get quarts. It works from 1.13 and forward and it does not get much simpler than this - but it's still ten times better than manually feeding furnaces. Just chuck in your items and come back when they're done.
