During my Zelda: OoT live stream, I showed off a very cool quick kill strategy for defeating Gohma in The Great Deku Tree.
When you hold R to shield, you can press B to "crouch stab" or "crab: (nobody actually calls it "crab" but we should). For some reason, the damage of the crouch stab is equal to that of the last slashing attack you used.
So for example, if you do a jump slash with a deku stick, then immediately crouch stab, every crouch stab will deal THE SAME DAMAGE as a deku stick leap slash, which is four times the damage of a regular Kokiri Sword attack.
When the fight starts, Z-Target to shoot Gohma in the eye with the Fairy Slingshot, then immediately pull out a Deku Stick and leap slash. Then, cancel the Z-Target, hold R, and mash B to crouch stab. Gohma should go down after two crouch stabs.
