Vegan gourmet dining at now closed Monsoon in Taipei was a real treat for us! While Monsoon as we experienced it is now closed, they’re planning to re-open in the future under a new concept which you’ll find out more about in our interview with the owners, Philip Han and Ted Liao. We discovered Monsoon as we were looking for a vegan fine dining experience on our trip and luckily, our timing enabled us to dine there before their Shilin location closed. The lunch was in a serene setting and very intimate with just three other tables of diners sharing the experience. Each dish had a story and the meal was a sensorial journey. We appreciated the care, detail, and intention behind the food and it was also our introduction to neo-Hakkanese cuisine. We hope that more people will get to dine at Monsoon in their future iteration to enjoy their food and until you can, watch this episode to get a preview of what you will be able to experience and to meet the passionate and creative team behind Monsoon.
